An article last Monday about reactions by parishioners at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine to a New Yorker essay by Honor Moore revealing that her father, Paul Moore Jr., the late Episcopal bishop of New York, had a hidden homosexual life referred imprecisely to the timing of her realization that he had had gay relationships. According to the essay, she found out “nearly two decades” after the early 1970s, not after his death in 2003.
